Description

Phoenix A is one of the largest supermassive black holes ever discovered. In this video, we travel across the universe to go inside one of the most massive black holes known to date. What would it look like to approach Phoenix A, cross its accretion disk, and reach the event horizon? Experience an epic journey into a black hole at the center of the Phoenix Cluster. We begin on Earth and travel far beyond the Solar System, leaving the Milky Way behind and crossing the immense space between galaxies. Our destination is the galaxy at the heart of the Phoenix Cluster, and at its center lies Phoenix A, an extraordinarily massive supermassive black hole surrounded by a vast accretion disk. As we approach the black hole, the effects of extreme gravity become increasingly dramatic. Light bends around the black hole, the background universe becomes distorted, and the accretion disk appears warped by the intense curvature of spacetime. Then we go closer. Much closer. We enter the accretion disk from the side and approach the event horizon, the point of no return beyond which nothing, not even light, can escape. This video is a space simulation created using Space Engine and Universe Sandbox. It is a visualization designed to explore what a journey toward Phoenix A could look like. At the moment Phoenix A appears, you also hear a real NASA black hole sonification. The sonification is based on NASA data from the Perseus cluster and is not an actual recording of sound from Phoenix A. Sound cannot travel through the vacuum of space. #phoenixa #blackhole #spacejourney #cosmos #science If you like this video, please consider subscribing to Beyond the Rings, and join our growing YouTube community: www.youtube.com/@UCppyAe3EEAGcGknEr4C4H-A You may also like this: https://youtu.be/fNKqnq1_U-g https://youtu.be/n5TOFjhHAq0 And this: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKQDRhWfXcTk1LhFhl2PA-_CYOpI5ouiL More info about sonifications: https://science.nasa.gov/mission/hubble/multimedia/sonifications/ Credit: Space Engine Pro Universe Sandbox - https://universesandbox.com/ Advanced editing techniques Elevenlabs Uppbeat license codes: OFOK3HDGDVSVCF9S, 3GEVGHR7PMZXN632, JCLLTJLOKRKCGZJV Royalty free audio FX NASA's black hole sonification at the end (the black hole at the center of the Perseus galaxy cluster), captured by Chandra: https://chandra.si.edu/sound/perseus.html Beyond the Rings.
