Of all the people in Middle-earth, why would Gandalf choose a quiet, comfort-loving hobbit who had never been on an adventure? In J.R.R. Tolkien's *The Hobbit*, Gandalf's decision to recruit Bilbo seems almost absurd. Bilbo has no experience fighting, no particular talent for adventure, and absolutely no desire to leave the Shire. Yet Gandalf sees something in him that even Bilbo doesn't recognize. In this video, we explore the real reasons Gandalf chose Bilbo, what he knew about the Baggins and Took families, why a hobbit was essential to Thorin's quest, and how Gandalf's seemingly strange decision would ultimately change the fate of Middle-earth. From the events of *The Hobbit* to the larger story of *The Lord of the Rings*, we'll examine what Tolkien's writings reveal about Gandalf's intentions and why Bilbo Baggins was far more important than anyone initially realized. #LordOfTheRings #TheHobbit #Gandalf #BilboBaggins #Tolkien Music by Luis Humanoide 2 - Middle Earth (Copyright Free Fantasy Music inspired by Lord of the Rings) check out his channel: https://www.youtube.com/@luishumanoide2
