Description

The Wendell's Deer Book → https://wendellcoffey.com/deer A box of baking soda can make your clothes smell like less. It can't make you smell like nothing. Here's what the old hunters did with the box on the shelf over the washer, what it costs for a whole season, and the one thing no box and no bottle will ever do for you. The five, plain: 5. The box goes in the tote. Hunting clothes clean in a lidded tote with an open box of baking soda, a spoonful in each boot the night before. The tote lives in the shop or the truck, not the house. 4. Wash in soda, not detergent. Hunting clothes alone, no detergent, no softener, half a cup of baking soda, warm water, extra rinse, dry on the line. 3. The box can't move the wind. Check the wind at the stand, not at the truck. Wrong wind, different stand. 2. The cooler after the deer. Hot water and dish soap, rinse, about a teaspoon of plain unscented bleach per quart of water, air dry with the lid open. Baking soda last, for the smell only. Never mix bleach with the peroxide spray. 1. The spray for boots, cap, pack and gloves: 1 quart distilled water, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 cup 3% hydrogen peroxide. Mix the night before, cap loose, dark bottle, test a hem first (peroxide bleaches), spray outside at the truck, mix fresh after a few days. Nothing here makes you scent-free. Hunt the wind first. If baking soda bothers your skin, stop and ask your doctor; don't swallow it. A scent on your own gear isn't bait in Tennessee; check your own state's regulations. What did your daddy keep his hunting clothes in? Tell me below. #deerhunting #scentcontrol #whitetail
