Description
🔧 Everything I learned fixing HVAC for 25 years, in one plain-English book.
📘 THE HVAC SURVIVAL GUIDE - get it here: https://raydutton.com
You booked the furnace tune-up, took the morning off to let him in, and twenty minutes and 59 dollars later he was gone. Now there's a sticker on your furnace with today's date and a checkmark, and you'll trust it all winter. But the one test that tells you whether that furnace is making carbon monoxide may never have happened.
I spent twenty-five years doing these fall tune-ups, eight or nine houses a day, and I know what fits into twenty minutes and what gets left out. In this video I walk you through five things to know before the tech shows up: what the coupon really buys, what a real tune-up looks like from start to finish, the 'while I'm here' part swap, the plan they pitch at your kitchen table, and the combustion test that measures carbon monoxide.
I also give you the fair side: a cheap coupon doesn't mean a crooked company, parts do wear out, and some plans are a good deal if you do the math. And I'll give you the one sentence to say when you book, so you walk away with real numbers instead of just a sticker.

Tell me in the comments what state you're in, how old your furnace is, and what you paid for your last tune-up. And tell me whether anybody ever handed you those combustion numbers. I read every one.
I'm Ray Dutton. Keep your cool, and I'll see you in the next one.
