The Miracle of the Man Whom the Earth Refused to Bury

He had read Surah al-Baqarah and Surah Aal ‘Imran, and he used to write for رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. Then he turned away, and began saying that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم knew nothing except what he himself had written. When he died, his people buried him. In the morning, the earth had thrown him out. They dug deeper and buried him again, and the earth threw him out again. The third time, they dug as deep as they could, and the earth threw him out a third time. This story is not a legend. It is recorded in both Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, and one of the Sahaba, أبو طلحة رضي الله عنه, saw it with his own eyes.
