Description
Homes sitting for 95 days, then 143. Price cut after price cut, and open houses where nobody shows up. On the other side, people with $100,000 saved who still can't buy a starter home. America now has more sellers than buyers than at any time in Redfin's records, and the houses still aren't moving.
In this video we hear from both sides: the homeowners, many of them boomers or retirees, who can't sell or can't afford to move or can't afford to retire without selling, and the young buyers locked out as they can't afford to buy a house. We do the math on 7.4% mortgage rates, the 3% "golden cage", taxes and insurance, and who is actually buying. Then we look at the people who found a way through anyway: house hacks, assumable mortgages, family help, down-payment programs and cheaper towns.
This channel covers what's really happening to working Americans' money.
