Is there still hope for South Africa? With political uncertainty, rising living costs and growing frustration with the ANC, many South Africans feel that nothing can change. But my hope for this country rests in Jesus Christ.
In this video, I explain why I refuse to give in to despair—and why Christian hope does not mean ignoring reality, remaining silent or expecting politicians to save us. Whether you support the DA, Freedom Front Plus or another political party, placing your ultimate trust in people leaves you vulnerable to disappointment.
Drawing on Matthew 19:26, Psalm 62:5, Jeremiah 17:5–7 and Romans 15:13, I discuss the difference between biblical hope, political optimism and nihilism. I also explain why trusting God means continuing to stand for what is right, praying for those who persecute us and remaining faithful even when we may never see the results of our efforts.
I want South Africa to flourish. I want future generations to live in freedom. But my faith cannot depend on an election result or a promise of better circumstances. My hope is in Christ, even when the future is uncertain.
