Description

The Royal Homes William and Kate Left Behind—and Why They Kept Moving Subscribe to the channel: @LostGrandeurUK In fifteen years, Prince William and Catherine have lived in six homes, and owned not one of them. They began in a £750-a-month farmhouse on Anglesey and have ended, for now, at Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom Georgian mansion in Windsor Great Park valued at around £16 million and held on a 20-year Crown Estate lease at £307,000 a year. In between came a 20-room Kensington Palace apartment refitted at a reported £4.5 million of public money, a country hall given by the late Queen, and the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage they moved to in 2022. Behind every move lay the same forces: privacy, security, schooling, grief, and a system in which even a future king rents. Why did they keep moving, and why has none of it ever truly been theirs? Subscribe to the channel: @lostgrandeuruk In this video, we talk about the full sequence of homes the Prince and Princess of Wales have lived in and left, including their private early years on Anglesey, Nottingham Cottage and Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, the gift of Anmer Hall, the 2022 move to Adelaide Cottage and the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Princess of Wales's cancer year, the two families who had to vacate Forest Lodge, and the grace-and-favour system that means the royals never own their homes. 🔔 Subscribe so the next story from Britain's great houses finds you. 💬 Comment where you're watching from and tell me which of their homes sounds most like a real home to you. 📢 Share this on Facebook, Reddit or in a group chat that loves royal history — you're the reason this channel keeps telling these stories.
