Description

Donate: https://stub.africa/@accolonn The DA could win the most votes and still struggle to govern. As South Africa’s 2026 local elections approach, could falling ANC support trigger a coalition crisis, threaten Cyril Ramaphosa’s leadership and unravel the Government of National Unity? In this video, I examine the election polling discussed for Johannesburg, Tshwane and KwaZulu-Natal, and explore why being the largest party does not guarantee control. Coalition negotiations involving the ANC, DA, MK Party, EFF, ActionSA and Freedom Front Plus could determine who actually runs our cities. I also explore what further ANC losses could mean for internal factional battles, Paul Mashatile’s leadership ambitions and the future of the GNU. Could Jacob Zuma and the MK Party gain greater influence? And how might calls for KwaZulu-Natal independence shape South Africa’s political future? These are possible scenarios based on the polling discussed, rather than guaranteed election outcomes. Finally, I turn to Ezekiel 20:30–44 to reflect on God’s covenant faithfulness, judgment, discipline and restoration. Although this passage addresses Israel, I consider what its message reveals about God’s character and how it challenges us as Christians in South Africa. Can political change alone address South Africa’s problems, or do we also need repentance and spiritual renewal? Share your thoughts in the comments.
