Description

Hey, welcome back to the channel, guys! So for today… we’ve got a really special one on the slab, because it’s a villain who is barely a person anymore. It’s Karl Ruprecht Kroenen from Hellboy, and boy, the two versions of him are damn different! In Mike Mignola’s original comics, Karl Ruprecht Kroenen is a masked Nazi scientist and a devoted little errand-boy for Grigori Rasputin. Yes, that Rasputin. Creepy as hell, sure, but honestly he’s just there in the background. Then Guillermo del Toro got his hands on him for the 2004 movie and turned him into an opera prodigy who got addicted to slicing himself open, ended up with a wind-up heart and blood that had dried to dust, and was basically not human at all by the time we meet him in the movie. Which means this video is essentially a double treat today, because we’ll be dissecting both these versions piece by piece. Let’s dig in.
