Description
Every Diwali we clean the whole house, and three days later the same things are back in the same places. In this video you will learn eight Japanese decluttering rules, based on danshari (refuse, dispose, separate), and how to use each one in a normal Indian home.
Also included: where to start in a joint family, and why you should never clear other people's belongings without asking.
Honest note: Japanese homes are not all perfect or empty, and many people there struggle with clutter too. Danshari was introduced by Hideko Yamashita in 2009, and the seiri and seiton order comes from the 5S method used in Japanese factories. The 10-minute technique is a general habit, not something unique to Japan. Take what suits your family.
Which of these rules does your home need most, and which drawer will you start with this week? Tell us in the comments below.
This video shares general home-organization ideas for awareness. Please do not discard other people's belongings without asking, and take old phones and batteries to a proper e-waste collection point. Every home and family is different.
