The Crazy Techniques Cargo Ships Use to Fight Pirates in the Middle of the Ocean

Picture this. You're on a cargo ship somewhere off Somalia, and two little boats show up on the horizon doing 25 knots. Your ship, fully loaded, is doing a blistering… 11. You can't outrun them, you can't shoot them, and in about ten minutes they're gonna be alongside with a ladder. So what the heck do you do? Well, it turns out there's an actual manual for this, and it's way stranger than you'd think. Razor wire in coils taller than your kitchen counter, lashed to the rails with a steel cable running through the middle. Fire hoses re-rigged to shoot sideways, and a rule that says nobody gets to stand there and aim them… for obvious reasons. A dish on the bridge wing that screams at 149 decibels. Four guys with rifles who boarded from a floating armoury because no country would let their guns through customs. And when all of that fails? The crew stops its own engines, cuts the lights, and locks itself in a steel room with a satellite phone and a pile of bottled water, waiting for a navy that may or may not show up. Oh yeah, and the scarecrow. Yes, an actual scarecrow. You'll see. If you enjoy this video please check out our channel for more like it!
