He Thought No One Would Ever Discover His Buried Secret | True Crime Documentary

Bernadette Vander Meer's 2006 fall from Angels Landing in Zion National Park was ruled an accident, until a reopened cold case, a sworn affidavit, and one fact about the sunrise led investigators to a very different question. In this true crime documentary from Case Bureau, we follow the timeline from a church youth group and a set of life insurance policies to the 911 call, the closed file, and the 2026 murder and insurance fraud charges against her husband, David Vander Meer, who died before the case could go to trial. Everything here comes from court documents, witness accounts, and news reporting, and we keep what is alleged separate from what is proven. If you follow cold cases and documentary-style true crime, subscribe and turn on notifications for the next case, and tell us in the comments what you think happened on that summit. Disclaimer: This video is for informational and educational purposes. David Vander Meer was never convicted of any crime and died before trial. He denied killing his wife. All accusations come from court documents and public reporting and are presented as allegations, not established fact. The presumption of innocence applies to every person named. Related inquiries may still be ongoing, and details or the status of the case may change, so please consult official sources for current information.
