Description

Jensen Huang's point is about people, not money. The US is trying to stand up chip fabs, and the hard part isn't capital. The talent isn't there yet. So Taiwan sent its own engineers over to train Americans. The scale of that is easy to miss. TSMC has now committed $265 billion to Arizona, raised from $165 billion in March 2025, with 10 fabs planned and one running. About half the staff at the first Arizona fab came from Taiwan, and more than 1,000 skilled workers were flown in just to finish construction on schedule. It worked better than almost anyone expected. Arizona's 4-nanometer line has been yielding about 4 percentage points higher than the comparable fab in Hsinchu. TSMC's US arm turned its first profitable half year in the first six months of 2025, roughly $150 million, with operating costs running two to three times what they are in Taiwan. Money built the buildings. People made them work. 🔎 We fact-checked 10 expert AI predictions so you know whose calls are worth listening to. It's free in channel bio.
