Description

What makes this Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry taste so much better than you’d expect from such a simple 30-minute dinner? It’s all in that glossy, sticky homemade teriyaki-style sauce! Juicy chicken and crisp-tender broccoli are coated in a sweet and savory sauce that tastes like your favorite takeout—but it’s incredibly easy to make at home. This easy chicken stir fry is a delicious one-pan meal made with simple ingredients, and I have a feeling you’ll want to make it again and again. If you love easy stir fry recipes, homemade takeout favorites, and quick weeknight dinners that are full of flavor, this one is for you! Serve it over brown rice, white rice, noodles, or even in lettuce wraps for an easy and satisfying meal. 🍗 What You’ll Need For the chicken & broccoli: * Boneless, skinless chicken breast: 1 1/4 lb, 570 g * Broccoli florets : 3 cups * Peanut oil or olive oil : 2 tbsp * Salt and black pepper For the homemade sauce: * Chicken broth : 1 cup, 240 ml * Cornstarch : 2 tbsp * Low-sodium soy sauce : 1/4 cup, 60 ml * Rice vinegar : 1 tbsp * Honey : 2 tbsp * Brown sugar : 1 1/2 tbsp * Hot sauce : 1 tsp * Ground ginger : 1/2 tsp * Toasted sesame oil : 1/4 tsp * Fresh garlic : 3 cloves, minced For serving: * Green onions * Toasted sesame seeds * Chili flakes, optional but highly recommended 🕰️TIMESTAMPS & INSTRUCTIONS 👩‍🍳 0:00 Cut the chicken into cubes, pat them completely dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper. 0:46 Heat 1 -2 tbsp peanut oil over medium high heat, once hot and glistening, add the chicken pieces in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes, then flip them and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until nicely seared on all sides and cooked through. Then remove and transfer to a plate. 1:15 Combine chicken broth and cornstarch well. Then add the rest of the sauce ingredients, mix well and set aside for later. 3:31 Add a drizzle of oil and toss in the broccolis, cook on medium high heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until they’re vibrant green and develop golden brown spots, then remove from the pan. 4:25 Add the sauce to the pan, bring it to a gentle boil, stirring constantly, lower the heat to a simmer, then return the chicken and broccoli, cook and heat through for one minute. 5:36 Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, green onions and chili pepper flakes.
