Description

📖 Forty years of dressing women over 60, the whole method, set down in one book https://viviansinclairstyle.com/ At nine o'clock on the morning of her daughter's wedding, a customer of mine looked perfect. By a quarter past eleven, at the church door, every fine line under her eyes had been drawn in with pale ink. She looked at me and said the sentence I have heard from more women than I can count: I do not understand, I used the good one. It was never the concealer. It is two things about where it goes and how it goes on, and nobody ever told us either of them. I am not a makeup artist. Everything technical here came from Colette, who did the makeup for brides two doors down from my boutique, and who fixed that customer at the reception with a tissue and one sentence: smile for me, properly. Here is why it creases. The skin under your eyes is the most mobile skin on your face. Every smile folds it into little pleats, hundreds of times a day. Concealer is a cream, and a cream on a surface that folds ends up in the folds. So the answer is not a better cream. It is to stop putting it on the skin that moves, and to use so little on the skin that does not that there is nothing left to wander. The 7 steps: • The smile test, and the small still patch at the inner corner where concealer truly belongs • Leave the moving skin alone, why the half moon makes the eye look smaller, and the one exception when you have a soft pouch under the eye • How much: a grain of rice, from the back of your hand, judged at arm's length and never in the magnifying mirror • Which way you press: outward, away from the nose, and pat, never rub • Nothing heavy underneath: no foundation around the eye, a pea of moisturiser, and why concealer behaves on a Sunday and not on a Monday • The shade: why too light turns a shadow grey, the warm tone that cancels it, the eyelid nobody mentions, and the window test • The last whisper of powder, and why you smooth a crease before you set it, never after Plus the thirty-second rescue for the afternoon it creeps into the lines anyway. And the honest part: none of this makes lines disappear, and dark circles that are new or sudden are a conversation for your doctor, not for a concealer. 📖 Forty years of dressing women over 60, the whole method, set down in one book https://viviansinclairstyle.com/ Try the smile test tomorrow morning and tell me in the comments where your still patch is and how much you used. I read every single one. Subscribe for a new video every week on style, hair and elegance after 60.
