Description

That dull, dented old ring sitting in the bottom of your jewelry box, the one with no sparkle, no clear stone, nothing that would ever catch your eye, is exactly the kind of piece that gets sold by weight for pocket change while the mark on the inside of the band was quietly worth thousands. In this video I walk through ten old rings, the kind families dismiss on sight because they look plain, scratched, or simply out of style, forgetting that a ring's worth has almost nothing to do with how it sparkles and almost everything to do with who made it and what it is actually made of. I am Roy Danforth, and for thirty-eight years I have been buying and pricing estate sales, flea markets and antique mall booths across the Ohio Valley and the Midwest, and rings are the single most common piece I see sold for scrap value out of pure impatience, because checking a ring properly takes real attention, and a scrap buyer will always offer cash on the spot for less trouble. I will be honest with you from the start, most old rings are exactly what they look like, plain metal worth close to nothing, and I am not going to inflate that for you. But a specific hallmark, a particular setting style, or a stone that only looks ordinary because nobody ever cleaned it properly can turn a ring that looks like junk drawer filler into something worth real money. For every ring on this list, I will show you what to look for inside the band, in the setting, and on the stone itself, so you know within a minute whether what you are holding is costume metal or something genuinely valuable. Do not sell a single ring by weight, do not assume dull means worthless, until you have gone through this whole list. If you find this useful, consider subscribing, because I go through a new jewelry box every week. And stay to the end, because the ring at number one is the one people mistake for junk more than any other piece I have ever priced.
