Located in the Blue Mountains village of Leura, Everglades House and Gardens is one of Australia's remarkable examples of 1930s architecture and landscape design. Created as a mountain retreat for businessman Henri Van de Velde and wife Una, the 13-acre estate was transformed by Danish landscape designer Paul Sorensen into a series of terraces, garden rooms, stone walls and sweeping vistas surrounding an Art Deco and Moderne-inspired house.
