Description

Do you remember what Halloween felt like as a kid? Before streaming. Before YouTube. Before you could search for virtually any movie you wanted and watch it instantly… Halloween had to find you. It was the smell of the leaves outside. The colder nights. Halloween decorations going up around the neighborhood. The anticipation of seeing what was going to be on television that night. Coming home from school in October and knowing that something about the season just felt different. And if you were lucky, you had a blank VHS tape waiting nearby. Maybe it was labeled in your handwriting. Maybe it wasn’t labeled at all. Maybe it was a recording that had been made over and over again until the picture became fuzzy, the colors faded and the tracking lines appeared. But you watched it anyway. Because somewhere on that tape was Halloween. In this video, I’m going back to some of those childhood Halloween movies that became annual traditions for me and helped unlock some of those memories I haven’t thought about in years. Some were scary. Some were strange. Some were funny. Some were barely horror at all. But that’s not really what matters. They were Halloween. These were the movies you discovered on television, recorded onto VHS and watched again when October rolled around. The movies that somehow became part of your childhood even if you didn’t fully understand why they fascinated you. And that’s what I want to explore in this video. Not just the movies themselves, but the memories attached to them. The VCR. The CRT television. The commercials between the movies. The Halloween specials. The sound of a VHS tape starting up. The excitement of seeing a familiar movie appear on TV. The feeling of being a kid and knowing that October was finally here. Because sometimes a movie isn’t special because it’s a masterpiece. Sometimes it’s special because you were eight years old when you saw it. And sometimes all it takes is one image, one piece of music, one VHS cover or one scene to unlock a memory that has been sitting somewhere in the back of your mind for 30 years. That’s the kind of Halloween nostalgia we’re digging into today. So grab some candy, turn down the lights, pop a VHS into the VCR and come take a trip back to a time when Halloween wasn’t something you streamed—it was something you waited for. 🎃📼 And I’d love to hear from you: What movie, Halloween special or TV recording instantly takes you back to your childhood? What was your Halloween VHS? 👇 Drop it in the comments. Let’s unlock some memories together. - Garrett #Halloween #HalloweenNostalgia #VHS #80sHorror #90sNostalgia #spookyseason #ChildhoodNostalgia #HorrorMovies #80sMovies #90sMovies #Born2beRad
