Petrol Prices Soar—and the RAF Wants Even MORE

In this video, I examine the proposed RAF fuel levy increase from R2.25 to R3 per litre and question how much more ordinary South Africans can afford. I unpack Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s argument on fuel tax relief, the impact of expensive fuel on food prices and economic growth, and why raising levies could undermine revenue as consumers drive less. I also discuss Cyril Ramaphosa’s proposed committee to oversee state-owned enterprises, the ANC’s approach to centralised government, and the barriers that BEE requirements create for investment, including the dispute involving Elon Musk and Starlink. Finally, I turn to Matthew 23 and reflect on justice, mercy, faithfulness and the hypocrisy of leaders who burden the people they are supposed to serve.
