Welcome to Ohio Uncovered: Who Actually Makes These Videos

On September 19, 1977, a Youngstown steel company announced 5,000 layoffs before lunch. Reading about that day is why Ohio Uncovered exists. I'm Garnett, one of the people behind the channel. We're a small team. We research every town ourselves, write our own scripts and edit our own videos. I didn't know much about Ohio before this. Then I read about Youngstown. The city has lost more than half its people since that Monday, but people still live there, and hardly anyone makes videos about them. So we do. So far we've covered Wick Avenue in Youngstown, Millionaires' Row in Cleveland, Bexley in Columbus, Clifton in Cincinnati, the most isolated towns in the state, and the Ohio cities where home prices are falling. We also go through the boring stuff that decides whether you can afford to live somewhere: property taxes, tax brackets, home prices. A lot of you put these on to fall asleep or in the background at work. That's fine with us.
