Description

Uppu Seedai | Crispy & Traditional South Indian Snack Uppu Seedai is a traditional South Indian savoury snack, especially prepared during Krishna Jayanthi / Gokulashtami. These small, golden balls are known for their wonderful crunch and simple yet addictive flavour. Getting the perfect Seedai is all about preparing the rice flour correctly and maintaining the right proportion of ingredients. In this recipe, I have shared the complete method along with important tips to make crispy Uppu Seedai without bursting while frying. The combination of homemade rice flour, urad dal, roasted channa, sesame seeds, coconut and butter gives the Seedai its characteristic texture, aroma and traditional taste. Follow the measurements and techniques shown in the video carefully for the best results. Ingredients Raw Rice / பச்சரிசி – 150 Grams Urad Dal / உளுந்து – 2 Tbsp Roasted Channa / பொட்டுக்கடலை – 2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds / எள்ளு – 1 Tbsp Grated Coconut / துருவிய தேங்காய் – 2 Tbsp Butter / வெண்ணெய் – 1 Tbsp Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம் – ¼ Tbsp Salt / உப்பு – To Taste This recipe makes approximately 70–75 crispy Uppu Seedai. Important Tip While making Uppu Seedai, the texture of the flour, moisture level of the dough and frying temperature are very important. Take your time while preparing and rolling the Seedai and follow the frying tips shown in the video to get a beautifully crunchy result. Perfect for Krishna Jayanthi, Gokulashtami, festive occasions or simply as a traditional evening snack with a cup of coffee or tea. Try this homemade Uppu Seedai recipe and let me know how it turned out in the comments. 😊 Crispy outside, traditional in taste and irresistible with every bite! #UppuSeedai, #UppuSeedaiRecipe, #KrishnaJayanthi, #KrishnaJayanthi2026, #KrishnaJayanthiRecipes, #KrishnaJayanthiSpecial, #Gokulashtami, #GokulashtamiRecipes, #GokulashtamiSpecial, #Janmashtami2026, #JanmashtamiRecipes, #Seedai, #SeedaiRecipe, #SeedaiInTamil, #CrispySeedai, #UppuSeedaiInTamil, #TamilRecipes, #TamilCooking, #FestivalRecipes, #EnSamayalLedger
