Babysitter Returned a Dead Baby, Then Checked Into a Hotel

#WisconsinTrueCrime #Wausau #MarissaTetzlaff #ChildSafety A Wausau babysitter handed a two-month-old boy back to his mother, then checked into a hotel. Hours later, detectives were asking her why. This is the Marissa Tetzlaff case, and the babysitter's story changed more than once. In October 2018, Marissa Tetzlaff was watching baby Benson in Wausau, Wisconsin. She had been charged with child abuse only days earlier and was barred from caring for young children. His mother, Heather, had no idea. When Heather picked him up, Marissa told her he was just sleeping. At a laundromat, a 911 call revealed the truth. This video walks through the real 911 audio, the police response at the scene, and the detective interrogations that followed. You'll hear Marissa's explanations for the hotel stay, the baby monitor, and the hours Benson was left alone. You'll also see how each version of her account held up against the evidence and the autopsy. We also look at the warning signs that existed before that night, including an earlier abuse case involving an 11-month-old and a no-contact order that never reached the parents who trusted her.
