After finishing her first meal in her new home, Malti goes to the kitchen with Priya to serve it. She searches for plates, bowls, and spoons but cannot find them. Priya finally takes out the large brass platter and tells Malti that this is the only utensil the family uses for eating. Malti is stunned and asks how everyone can eat together from one platter.
