A Rusted Out Land Cruiser V8 Gets a Complete Engine, Chassis & Interior Restoration

This Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Series had just over 310,000 miles on the odometer, yet the body was already rusted so badly that sections had to be cut out and replaced. Rather than patching up the visible damage, we took on a full restoration. First, we separated the body from the frame and stripped the vehicle down. The shell received extensive rust repair, paint removal, careful surface preparation, anti-corrosion coating, and a fresh waterborne paint finish. Then came the V8 engine rebuild. After finding sludge, noisy components, and scored cylinder walls, we dismantled the engine, cleaned its parts, machined and honed the block, tested the fuel injectors, and installed new pistons and rings. The chassis was completely disassembled, cleaned, refinished, and rebuilt with new bushings and seals. We also restored the wiring, dashboard, wood trim, seats, and door components.
