Scorpion Right Next to You

This scorpion was right next to you the whole time. Under a black light, its shell glows blue-green. At night it's the same color as the sand, so with a normal flashlight you'd walk right past it. Scorpion hunters use black lights to spot them from yards away, then drop a jar over the top. Scientists still aren't sure why scorpions glow, and even fossils millions of years old still do. This 3D animation shows an illustrated desert hairy scorpion; the glow is drawn to look like black-light photos, not measured. #Shorts #Scorpion #Nature
