Description
Original Video Credit: I@teslacoilpro
This is a toroidal plasma ring created inside a flask filled with low-pressure inert gas.
The device uses a high-frequency electromagnetic field to ionize the gas. Once enough energy is transferred into the gas, some of its atoms lose electrons and become electrically charged. That creates plasma, often called the fourth state of matter.
The glowing ring forms because the plasma is being driven by the electromagnetic field in a toroidal, or donut-like, shape.
What makes the video especially interesting is that the plasma does not remain perfectly still. It can ripple, pulse, twist, and form changing patterns. These movements are caused by plasma fluctuations and instabilities, as charged particles continuously respond to the electromagnetic field and to each other.
The colors you see come from excited atoms and ions releasing light as they lose energy. Different gases can produce different colors and visual patterns depending on how they interact with the field.
This type of setup is useful for demonstrating how plasma behaves in controlled conditions, including the same kinds of physical principles scientists study in fields such as fusion research, space physics, and electromagnetic plasma experiments.
This video is shared for educational purposes to explain plasma, ionization, electromagnetic fields, and the changing behavior of charged particles.
