Description

📕 Get The Lunch Lady's Home Cleaning Handbook, every method in this video written down with the amounts, in the order you would really do them: https://doriscleans.com There's a shadow on my stove top around the front burner, and I scrubbed at it every Saturday for twenty years before a throwaway sentence from an appliance man finally landed on me. Here's the two minute version. Tonight, on a stove that's gone cold, wash one hand-sized patch of the flat top beside the burner you actually cook on. Dry it bone dry. Then about as much petroleum jelly as you'd put on a chapped lip, on a dry cloth, rubbed in until your eye can't find it. Cook tomorrow like you always do, then wipe that patch with a dry rag and wipe the enamel next to it, and tell me the two felt the same. In this one I get into what that brown film on your stove top actually is (it is not grease, and Lodge will tell you what it is), why every Saturday you ever spent on it was spent in the wrong order, the one temperature nobody in these videos gives you, and the places this jar absolutely does not go. I'm Mrs. Doris. Thirty-five years behind a school lunch line in Scioto County, Ohio, four hundred children a day. I show you what actually works, I tell you where it stops, and I say so when the common advice has it wrong. ⚠️ READ BEFORE YOU TRY THIS - Cold stove only. Every knob at zero, checked with your eyes, and the top cold to the flat of your hand. - If your cooktop is one sheet of glass with the burners drawn on it, this is not for you. - Never on a burner, a grate, a burner cap, a drip pan or a coil. Never on a knob, a handle or the oven door. - A hand's width back from the burner ring at the closest. - Thin enough that you cannot see it. If it shines, keep buffing. - Never on a floor, and never where food touches. - Not on a day you are running the self clean. - Wash your hands with soap afterwards. SOURCES I USED - Lodge Cast Iron, "How to Season" - Vaseline Pure Petroleum Jelly safety data sheet, and a second petroleum jelly SDS - Whirlpool, porcelain cooktop and ceramic glass cooktop cleaning pages, and the gas range Use & Care Guide So which burner do you actually cook on? Everybody's got one, and the enamel around it is the darkest on the whole stove. #cleaningtips #kitchencleaning #stovetop #oldschoolcleaning
