Ruth was a grieving foreigner with empty hands, going out one morning only to gather leftover grain for Naomi. Scripture says she "happened to come" to the part of the field belonging to Boaz (Ruth 2:3). To Ruth it was a random turn. To God it was an appointment. And the very next verse holds one small word that changes everything, while the last word of her book is a name that changed history. This morning devotional walks through three truths. What looks like chance is often God's appointment: the Lord directs your steps, even the ones you take without thinking (Proverbs 16:9, Psalm 37:23, Psalm 139:16). Favor finds the faithful: Ruth gleaned from morning until Boaz walked into her field, and a shepherd boy running an errand with bread and cheese arrived in the valley at the exact hour Goliath stepped out (Ruth 2:4, Ruth 2:16, 1 Samuel 17:20-23, Galatians 6:9). And God arranged your favor before you arrived: Ruth was already standing in the field of her kinsman redeemer before she knew she needed one (Ruth 2:20, Ruth 4:22, Matthew 1:5). Stay to the end for a blessed prayer over your steps, your work, your family, your finances, your healing and your breakthrough, in the mighty name of Jesus. 🙏 If this prayer blessed you, comment "AMEN" and share it with someone who needs to know their steps are not an accident. 🔔 Subscribe and turn on notifications so you never miss a morning prayer. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 The Turn You Didn't Choose Was Chosen for You 0:55 She Just Happened to Come — Ruth in the Field of Boaz (Ruth 2:3) 1:48 The Small Word Most People Miss in Ruth's Story 2:44 What Looks Like Chance Is God's Appointment (Proverbs 16:9) 3:45 The Lord Orders Even Your Small Steps (Psalm 37:23) 4:32 The Servant Who Kept Walking (Genesis 24) 6:28 "Being on the Way, the Lord Led Me" (Genesis 24:27) 7:27 When You Can't See Where Your Path Is Going (Proverbs 20:24) 8:13 Every Day Was Written Before You Lived It (Psalm 139:16) 9:33 Favor Finds the Faithful (Ruth 2:7, Colossians 3:23) 11:03 The Word "Behold" — Favor Walks Into Her Field (Ruth 2:4) 11:52 Handfuls Left on Purpose — Scraps Into Surplus (Ruth 2:16) 12:54 David's Errand — Bread and Cheese for the Battle (1 Samuel 17:17-20) 14:04 The Right Valley at the Right Hour (1 Samuel 17:23) 14:53 Don't Despise the Errand God Gave You (Galatians 6:9) 16:08 God Arranged Your Favor Before You Arrived (Ruth 2:20) 17:09 Boaz, the Kinsman Redeemer Already in Her Field (Isaiah 65:24) 18:07 A Forgotten Good Deed and a Sleepless King (Esther 6:1) 19:44 God Keeps Better Records Than Kings (Psalm 121:4) 20:21 The Hidden Name at the End of Ruth (Ruth 4:22) 21:05 Ruth's Great-Grandson Was the Shepherd Boy (Matthew 1:5) 21:58 Your Faithfulness Today Blesses Generations 22:33 The Redeemer Is Already in Your Field 23:08 A Morning Prayer for God's Favor — Thanksgiving 31:18 Praying in Agreement — Standing Together This Morning 32:32 Type Amen and Share Your Prayer Request Scriptures in this prayer (NKJV): Ruth 2:3 • Proverbs 16:9 • Psalm 37:23 • Genesis 24:15 • Genesis 24:27 • Proverbs 20:24 • Psalm 139:16 • Ruth 2:7 • Colossians 3:23 • Ruth 2:4 • Ruth 2:16 • Proverbs 22:29 • 1 Samuel 17:17-23 • Galatians 6:9 • Ruth 2:20 • Isaiah 65:24 • Esther 6:1 • Psalm 121:4 • Ruth 4:22 • Matthew 1:5 #MorningPrayer #GodsFavor #RuthAndBoaz
