Strike a tuning fork on one side of a quiet room, and a second fork across the room begins to hum the very same note. Nobody struck it. It answers because it was made to match the sound. The woman with the issue of blood had suffered for twelve years and spent everything she had on physicians. In a crowded street she did not shout, push or plead. She simply reached, and the power of Jesus answered. This spoken morning devotional walks through three truths. First, faith moves toward Jesus before the miracle arrives: she heard, she came, she touched, and only then was she made well (Mark 5:25-28, Hebrews 11:6, Psalm 34:18). Second, why she chose the hem: God commanded tassels on the corners of every garment, and the Hebrew word for "corner" is the same word Malachi used for "wings" when he promised the Sun of Righteousness would arise with healing in His wings (Numbers 15:38-39, Malachi 4:2, Matthew 9:20). You will also meet the leper Jesus touched when no one else would (Matthew 8:2-3). Third, why Jesus would not let her leave in secret, the first word He spoke to her, and what blind Bartimaeus has in common with her (Mark 5:34, Mark 10:47-52, Isaiah 53:5).
