Description
There’s just something special about a slow-braised pork roast on a cool fall day. 🍎
Today on the Back Porch, we’re making an Apple Cider Braised Pork Roast with onions, carrots, apples, and apple cider. The pork cooks low and slow until it’s fall-apart tender, surrounded by all those sweet and savory flavors that make this the kind of meal that feels like home.
This is my take on Appalachian-style comfort food — simple ingredients, hearty portions, and the kind of old-fashioned cooking that brings everybody to the table. Pork and apples are a natural pairing in the Mountain South, making this a perfect fit for the Appalachian-inspired recipes we love to share here on the Back Porch.
I served mine with creamy mashed potatoes and a piece of golden cornbread because, well… this is the Back Porch! 😄
If you enjoy old-fashioned Southern and Appalachian-inspired recipes, country cooking, forgotten recipes, and meals that bring back memories, you’re in the right place.
