Description

You turn 65 and you want to keep working. The law is increasingly on your side and the re-employment age has just moved again. But there is something in the arithmetic nobody mentions, and it is not about your salary. It is about what happens to the CPF built on that salary. In this video: what re-employment actually obliges your employer to do and up to what age, whether your pay and job scope can change, the Employment Assistance Payment if they cannot re-employ you, and then the catch — the total CPF contribution rate falling from 25% to 16.5% at 65, and the allocation shifting so hard towards MediSave that only a fraction reaches your Retirement Account. Plus why working longer is still worth it, for reasons that have nothing to do with CPF. Know your two ages. Ask about re-employment early. And work past 65 for the salary, not for the CPF.
