Tragedy Struck Just Before Their Performance😨

What was supposed to be another halftime performance for the University of Iowa Hawkeye Marching Band became an incredibly emotional tribute after the group suffered an unimaginable loss. It happened during one of the hottest Iowa football games on record. Temperatures were brutal, with the heat index climbing well above 100°F, creating exhausting conditions for everyone inside the stadium, especially marching band members performing in heavy uniforms while carrying their instruments. As members of the band have explained, their performances might last only minutes, but those minutes require an enormous amount of physical effort. And on that brutally hot day, section leader Derek Phillips suddenly collapsed. Derek had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.
