He Broke Down in Tears During Pitching😶

After 21 seasons in Major League Baseball, Justin Verlander’s legendary career came to an emotional end where it all began with the Detroit Tigers. The 43-year-old made his final start against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Comerica Park, pitching 5⅓ innings and recording six strikeouts before manager A.J. Hinch walked toward the mound to remove him from a game for the final time. But Hinch and Verlander’s wife, Kate Upton, had secretly planned one final surprise. Verlander’s 7-year-old daughter Genevieve suddenly ran onto the field and straight into her father’s arms. Verlander immediately broke down in tears. He later revealed that Genevieve had never seen him cry like that, so while hugging her, he made sure she understood they were tears of happiness. After 3,560 career strikeouts, 10 All-Star selections, three Cy Young Awards and two World Series championships, Verlander walked off an MLB mound for the final time hand in hand with his daughter. ❤️⚾
