Description

I always find it funny how everyone assumes the GT40 is pure American muscle. I dug into the actual build history for this one and honestly the real story surprised me. The car was designed by an Englishman, built in a workshop in Slough, and its two most legendary Le Mans wins came from a British team years after Ford had walked away. In this video I trace how a broken deal with Ferrari, a furious Henry Ford II, and one heartbroken British driver in 1966 all led to a machine that's nowhere near as "American" as the poster makes it look.
