Description

When glam rock exploded in the early 70s, it completely transformed the British music scene. Artists like David Bowie, T. Rex, Slade and The Sweet suddenly dominated the charts with stomping beats, glitter, platform boots and larger-than-life personalities. But while glam rock is usually associated with a new generation of performers, a number of artists who had originally found success in the 60s also tried their hand at the glam sound. Some embraced the style in an attempt to stay relevant, while others were simply experimenting with the musical trends of the time. In this video, we take a look at a selection of 60s stars who briefly ventured into glam rock during the 70s, sometimes with surprising results. Let's begin!
