Description
📖 My book, Nothing Goes to Waste: https://missevelynsnotebook.com/
I was messy for 50 years. These two simple tidying habits helped me stop making the same clutter piles over and over.
I bought a pretty basket to keep the kitchen counter tidy. Filled it right up. Bought another one. My husband, Curtis, thought I’d taken up collecting baskets. I thought I was getting organized—but I still couldn’t find my glasses.
In this video, I walk through the two little rules I use now: finishing the small put-aways as I go, and doing a short evening reset before I settle into my chair. We’ll follow an ordinary day—the package left on the table, the scissors without a home, the mail that needs a decision, and the drawer that turns one little job into an afternoon.
We’ll also talk about sharing the reset, keeping things manageable when you live alone, and making the job smaller on a tired evening. Ten minutes won’t undo years of accumulated stuff. But one usable chair, one clear place for your coffee, or one spot where you can actually find your glasses is worth having.
No perfect-house promise. Just practical housekeeping habits that leave a little less work waiting for tomorrow.
