We Completely Misunderstood How T. Rex Took Over The World

Before T. Rex became the king of dinosaurs, its relatives were not always the biggest predators in the world. Long before Tyrannosaurus rex ruled North America with bone-crushing jaws and a massive body, earlier tyrannosaur relatives lived in ecosystems dominated by larger hunters. Some were small, fast, and lightweight. Others had advanced senses before they ever became giants. In this video, we explore the forgotten world before T. Rex became king — from Moros in ancient Utah, a small tyrannosaur relative that weighed about as much as a person, to Siats, a much larger predator from the same ancient rock formation. We also look at Timurlengia, Yutyrannus, Suskityrannus, Khankhuuluu, juvenile Gorgosaurus, and the evolutionary changes that eventually led to the rise of giant tyrannosaurs. T. Rex did not appear from nowhere. Its rise was shaped by smaller ancestors, changing ecosystems, disappearing competitors, intercontinental movement, and millions of years of evolution. Before T. Rex ruled the Earth, something else held the crown. #trex #dinosaurs #prehistoricanimals #paleontology #documentary
