Don’t Throw Away Your Old Laptop — macOS Might Surprise You! In this video, I take an old Dell Precision 7520 and see just how far it can go with macOS Sequoia and macOS Tahoe. The laptop is running an Intel Core i7-7820HQ, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, Intel HD 630 graphics, and even a 4K display. On paper, it’s old hardware — but macOS Sequoia turns out to run far better than expected. The interface is smooth, the 4K scaling looks great, trackpad gestures work, Safari handles multiple tabs easily, and even 4K YouTube playback stays stable. Of course, it’s not perfect. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don’t work with the original wireless card, but Ethernet works just fine. I also test gaming on macOS Sequoia, including Hollow Knight: Silksong and Minecraft, before taking things one step further. Then comes the real challenge: macOS Tahoe. I rebuild the EFI, prepare a new Recovery installer, and try to push this old Windows laptop all the way to macOS Tahoe. And somehow... it actually boots. So is macOS Sequoia still worth installing on old hardware? And can macOS Tahoe actually be usable on a machine like this? Watch until the end and decide for yourself.
