Description

When USAT Dorchester sank near Greenland on 3 February 1943, Charles W. David Jr. joined eleven other Coast Guardsmen aboard USCGC Comanche in a desperate rescue. Together, the volunteers brought 93 survivors aboard. David later died after the exposure. The Four Chaplains are rightly remembered. This is the story of another act of courage that unfolded beside them. Visual note: AI-generated scenes in this episode are illustrative historical reconstructions, not archival photographs.
