Description
"'Twas the Tism, My Lord"
I don't think so!
It’s payback time.
After discovering that half her Rogue Trader vessel had been filled with obsolete cables, broken switches, ancient adapters, loose screws, spare brackets and boxes of unidentified “good bits,” Lord Captain Helvia Corvin has finally decided to teach her red-robed Tech-Priests a lesson after being "manuevered last time".
Unfortunately for the servants of the Omnissiah, she has been paying attention.
Tools are moved. Buttons change places. Meetings appear without warning. Forge lighting becomes painfully efficient. Headsets disappear. Workstations are reorganised. The walls come down. Team-building begins.
And then the Lord Captain introduces hot-desking.
For the Adeptus Mechanicus, whose lives revolve around ritual, precision, sacred machinery, cogitators, augmetics, data, maintenance routines and the proper placement of every blessed component, the Lord Captain’s new programme of “workplace improvements” may be more terrifying than anything waiting beyond the Gellar Field.
The Tech-Priests have only one defence left:
’Twasn’t the tism, my lord.
This industrial folk drinking song is the payback companion to “’Twas the Tism, My Lord,” once again powered by electric organ, stomping boots, struck tankards, machine beeps, mechanical rhythms and a rowdy shipboard gang chorus.
Rogue Traders are independent Imperial void captains empowered by ancient Warrants of Trade to travel, explore and conduct war and commerce beyond the ordinary boundaries of Imperial authority. Their enormous voidships may carry soldiers, merchants, explorers, servitors, enginseers, Tech-Priests and other members of the Machine Cult. Even a powerful Lord Captain therefore has to coexist with the Adeptus Mechanicus personnel responsible for keeping engines, plasma drives, cogitators, auspex systems, weapons, servitors and countless other sacred machines functioning.
Helvia has learned something important, however: she may not understand every mystery of the Machine God, but she does understand management.
And she remembers exactly which box contained the cable that saved the ship.
That box may stay.
The rest?
Just vent it.
Use this rowdy grimdark drinking song for Warhammer 40K gaming, Adeptus Mechanicus armies, Rogue Trader campaigns, Imperial Guard and Astra Militarum games, miniature painting, kitbashing, model building, terrain crafting, Mechanicus hobby projects, forge-world armies, tabletop sessions, sci-fi tavern playlists, engineering playlists, workshop music or reorganising someone else’s carefully arranged collection of cables.
