Description

Something beyond Neptune appears to be warping the outer Solar System. A new analysis of distant Kuiper Belt objects found their average orbital plane tilted by roughly 15 degrees a pattern that may require an unseen planet to keep it in place. The best-fit world would be somewhere between Mercury and Earth in mass, orbiting roughly 100 to 200 astronomical units from the Sun. But where would a rocky planet that far away come from? In this video, we explore Planet Y, how it differs from Planet Nine, why such a world could have been thrown outward from the early Solar System — or even captured as a rogue planet when the Sun was young. The evidence is intriguing, but not definitive. Now the Vera C. Rubin Observatory has begun the survey capable of testing it. We may soon discover another planet. Or discover that the mystery was never a planet at all. -- DISCUSSIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA Commercial Purposes: [email protected] Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@insanecuriosity Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/user/insanecuriosity Instagram: https://instagram.com/insanecuriositythereal Twitter: https://twitter.com/insanecurio Facebook: https://facebook.com/InsaneCuriosity Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/insane-curiosity-46b928277/ Our Website: https://insanecuriosity.com/ -- Credits: Ron Miller, Mark A.
