Following my visit to the Norwegian village of Flåm, I’ve made this video after learning about its wartime history and seeing its WW2 bunkers. A beautiful and fascinating place. Flåm is known for its breathtaking fjords, towering mountains, and world-famous railway. But during the Second World War, this peaceful Norwegian village found itself caught in the turmoil of occupation. Join me as I explore life in Flåm before the war, the tragic attack on the steamship Begonia, the German occupation of the village, the construction of wartime bunkers, and the completion of the Flåm Railway under German rule. Through surviving relics and forgotten stories, this video touches on part of a remarkable chapter in the history of one of Norway's most beautiful places.
