The Conjuring House: What Really Happened

Before it was a billion-dollar movie franchise, it was just an old farmhouse on a back road in Rhode Island. In 1971, the Perron family moved in with their five daughters. Within a few years, the country's most famous ghost hunters had come and gone, a name from the town death records had attached itself to the house, and one night in that living room would be described decades later as the worst night of a fifteen-year-old's life. But the paper trail tells a different story than the one Hollywood sold. Almost nothing about it lines up with what ended up on screen. Not the "witch." Not the deaths supposedly tied to the property. Not even what the people who lived there longest say happened inside. In this episode we go back to the original records, the people who owned the house before and after, the investigators who walked through it themselves, and the money that kept the legend alive for fifty years. Then we do what we always do: lay out every theory, and land on what most likely happened at 1677 Round Top Road.
