Description

🔗 Save $3,000 A Year the Mountain Way. Get the Full Manual 👉 https://www.arliecaudill.com My Papaw raised a patch of burley on the hillside above his house every year of his life. I was the boy who handed him the sticks at cutting time. I still grow a few rows at the lower end of our garden, and I roll my own cigars at the kitchen table. In this one I walk you through the whole year, from a seed smaller than flour dust to a cigar you can smoke. I show you how Ruby starts the seed behind our woodstove, and when a leaf is ready to pick. I show you how we cure the leaves in a flour sack towel and age them in a crock down in the can house. For the rolling, I use a paring knife, flour paste, and a press I made from two scraps of poplar. You will not need a humidor, a cigar mold, or a store-bought wrapper leaf. I will also tell you what this will not do. It will not save you a dime unless you already smoke, and growing it yourself does not make it good for you. I cover the ways it can hurt you, your younguns, and your dogs, and the mistake that ruined my first cigar. This is for grown folks only. Find out whether your county lets you grow tobacco before you put a seed in the ground. If anybody in your family ever raised a tobacco patch, tell me what they hung it in to cure. I read every one. #Appalachia #HomegrownTobacco #CigarMaking #OldWays #MountainLiving #SelfSufficiency #Homestead
