Judith Chapter 5 | Achior Tells Holofernes About Israel | Bible Stories Media Network The Assyrian army has reached the region near Israel, and Holofernes wants to know why the Israelites refuse to surrender. He summons Achior, the Ammonite commander, and demands an explanation. Achior tells him the history of Israel. He explains how the Israelites came from the land of their ancestors, went down into Egypt, and were later brought out by the power of their God. Their God had driven out the nations before them and given them the land they now possessed. But Achior gives Holofernes a warning. Israel cannot simply be defeated because its enemies are stronger. If the Israelites have not sinned against their God, their God may protect them. But if they have turned away from Him, then their enemies may overcome them. Holofernes and his commanders listen to Achior's words—but they do not take his warning seriously. To them, Israel is only another nation standing in the path of the Assyrian army. They are about to discover that the people they intend to destroy do not fight by the strength of their armies alone. 📖 Judith Chapter 5 THE BIBLE STORIES MEDIA NETWORK @enjoybiblestories #Judith5 #Judith #BookOfJudith #BibleStories #BibleShorts #BibleStudy #BibleExplained #Achior #Holofernes #Israel #AssyrianArmy #Bethulia #DeuterocanonicalBooks #CatholicBible #BiblicalHistory #Christian #Scripture #Faith #EnjoyBibleStories Judith Chapter 5, Judith 5 explained, Judith chapter 5 Bible story, Book of Judith, Book of Judith explained, Judith Bible story, Judith Bible Shorts, Achior, Achior Bible story, Achior and Holofernes, Holofernes, Holofernes and Achior, Israel's history, history of Israel, Israelites and Assyrians, Assyrian army, Israel God, God of Israel, Achior warns Holofernes, Holofernes warning, Israel's faith, Israelites in Judea, Bethulia, Judith Bible study, Deuterocanonical books, Deuterocanonical Bible, Catholic Bible stories, biblical history, Old Testament Bible stories, Bible stories, Bible Shorts, Christian Bible stories, Scripture, faith in God, THE BIBLE STORIES MEDIA NETWORK, Enjoy Bible Stories
