Description

Ladies and gentlemen, Kasuku is now calling out Museveni. Yes, you heard me right! Uganda’s number one social media guru has finally spoken—and although he carefully avoided mentioning Museveni by name, many listeners will understand exactly whom he was referring to. During a YouTube podcast on Arts4Hearts TV, Kasuku appeared cautious about what he was about to say. He asked the people he was referring to not to take his words in bad faith. Then he dropped this statement: “I think our leaders are tired.” Now, think about that for a moment. This is the same Kasuku who was previously welcomed at State House, where he discussed support for Uganda’s social media content creators, including a promised capital fund running into billions of shillings. And now, he is publicly expressing concern about the leadership of the country. His choice of words raises an important question: What exactly does he believe has gone wrong with the leadership of this country? Will Kasuku go further and explain what he means? Will he speak more openly about the problems he sees in the system, or will this remain one of those rare moments when someone close to the establishment says something that gets people talking? For now, he has said it, and people are paying attention. Kasuku says he thinks our leaders are tired. That statement deserves scrutiny, especially from a man who has had opportunities to interact with those at the highest levels of power. Here is Kasuku’s statement, followed by my commentary.
