Description

written down: https://berthacleans.com Open the cabinet under your sink and pick up the tub of wipes. How many did you buy this month? It is not because you are wasteful, mija. You have been paying for a germ killer to wipe up jelly. Cleaning and disinfecting are two different jobs. Today: three homemade wipes from one roll of paper towels, about a dollar a tub, and the honest truth about which one really disinfects. WHAT YOU NEED: a roll of strong paper towels (the good brand), a bread knife, a container with a snap lid wide enough for the roll (a big plastic coffee can works). Saw the roll in half like a loaf of bread. Each half makes a tub. WIPE 1, THE EVERYDAY WIPE (cleans, does NOT disinfect): - 1 1/2 cups water, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol, 4 or 5 drops of dish soap - Stand the half roll in the container, pour slowly in 3 or 4 pours, let the paper drink - When it is wet through, pull the cardboard tube out of the middle. The towel pulls from the center - For counters, table, cool stove top, high chair tray WIPE 2, THE ONE THAT DISINFECTS: - Rubbing alcohol, 70% or higher, straight from the bottle. No water (watered down, it stops working) - About 1 1/2 cups over the other half roll. Snap the lid tight - Clean first, then wet the surface, leave it wet at least 30 seconds, let it air dry - For after raw chicken, faucet and fridge handles, trash can lid, when someone is sick - RULES: never near a flame, never on varnished or lacquered wood, test painted surfaces, label the tub, keep it up high away from children WIPE 3, THE CUTTING BOARD WIPE (deodorizes, does NOT disinfect): - 1 cup white vinegar, 1 cup water - For boards after vegetables, fruit and bread, stainless steel, refrigerator shelves - After raw meat: hot water, dish soap and a scrub, every time - Never on marble or granite. Wooden board: a little mineral oil once a month THE CLOTH VERSION: old cotton shirt cut into squares, in a small jar with the everyday mix. Wash and reuse. NEVER: do not make bleach wipes (diluted bleach loses strength within about a day) and never mix bleach with vinegar, rubbing alcohol, ammonia or any other cleaner. Never pour the three recipes together. HONEST WORDS: homemade tubs have no preservative. Make half a roll at a time, use within a week or two, and throw it out if it smells sour or shows a dark spot. When someone is truly ill or your doctor gave instructions, use a product with a tested label and follow the time on the back. THE HABIT: wipe while you cook, not after. No es más limpio el que más limpia, sino el que menos ensucia. Tonight, make the everyday tub. Tell me in the comments how many tubs of store wipes your house was going through in a month (mine was eleven), and your county. I read every one.
