Description

Get Bertha's Cleaning Book, every method for the whole house, written down: https://berthacleans.com Find one wooden clothespin. Six drops of something that smells good, one place you never thought to put it, and every time the heat or the air comes on, the room smells clean and light. No plug in the wall, no candle. The smell is always gone by the afternoon because the scent sits where the air does not move. It is not because your house is dirty, mija. FIRST (the step everybody skips): a good smell does not take a bad smell away. - The front door test: step outside, count to 30, walk back in. That first breath is what your guests smell - Check the air filter for your heating and cooling. Gray and furry = change it - Wipe the vent cover with a damp cloth THE CLOTHESPIN: wooden, not plastic (wood drinks the oil and lets it go slowly). Over the sink, 3 drops of essential oil on each side, 6 in all. Orange or lemon for the kitchen, lavender for the bedroom. No oil? A little real vanilla, softer, fades in a day. WHAT I DO NOT USE: baby oil (almost no scent, and it catches dust on a vent) or laundry scent beads (heavy perfume). FIVE PLACES: 1. THE AIR VENT. Clip it to a slat on the side. Refresh with 3 drops every 3 or 4 days. Central-air vents only: never on a space heater, baseboard heater, radiator, or near a flame 2. THE CAR. Clip it to the dashboard vent. One in each gym shoe or the gym bag overnight 3. THE CLOSET. Clip it to a hanger. For drawers, a bar of soap still in its paper 4. THE TRASH CAN AND BATHROOM. Inside rim under the lid. Two drops inside the toilet paper tube 5. THE FAN. NOT on ceiling fan blades (it unbalances the fan and can fly off). Clip it to the back cage of a standing or box fan MY MOTHER'S POT: a small pot of water on the lowest flame with a stick of canela, orange peel and 3 or 4 cloves. Summer: lime peel and yerbabuena. Keep adding water, never leave it on when you sleep or go out. THE REFRIGERATOR: an open jar of baking soda helps a little. The real fix is wiping the spill. HONEST WORDS: a clothespin is a whisper, not a shout. One room, light and clean. It will not hide a litter box or last night's fish. Clean the real smell first. CAUTIONS: many essential oils are not safe for cats and birds (birds most of all). Keep them out of reach, skip the bird's room, ask your vet. Go light around babies and asthma, or use only vanilla. Oil can mark paint and wood. THE HABITS: two windows open ten minutes every morning, change the filter when it is gray, three drops every Sunday, save your orange peels. Lo poco agrada, y lo mucho enfada. Tonight, clip one to the vent in the room where you sit. Tell me in the comments what your mother's house smelled like when you walked in the door, and your county. I read every one. CHAPTERS 0:00 Find one clothespin 1:03 Why the smell fades 1:53 Why wood works 2:35 First: the door test 3:49 What goes on it 4:39 What I won't use 5:07 1. The air vent 6:03 2.
