Description

The Wolf Comes Tonight is a dark Nordic folk ritual chant about the mothers of Fenris — women who raise their sons knowing that one day the Wolf may come for them. Built around tribal drums, bowed lyre, ritual chanting and an elderly female voice, the song draws from the atmosphere of Norse folk music, Viking ritual music and ancient communal song while telling a story inspired by the Space Wolves of Warhammer 40,000. On Fenris, strength is something a family builds together. The sons grow beneath the cold sky. They learn to endure, to fight, to fall and stand again. They want to be noticed. They want the honour of being chosen. Their mothers want it for them too. And that is what makes the song hurt. They feel pride when their sons stand tall before the Wolf, and sorrow because they know what that honour means. A son who is chosen leaves the hearth and becomes part of something far greater than the life he knew. Sidri, the old woman whose voice carries the song, does not speak only for herself. She speaks for generations of Fenrisian mothers. They bind the wounds. They tend the hearth. They raise the strong. And when the Wolf comes, they let them go. Take our sons. The Allfather must be served. The old ways must continue. The specific trials depicted in the song — running the ice, climbing the stone, fighting, falling and rising again — are our own interpretation of Fenrisian tribal tradition rather than a canonical list of Space Wolves recruitment trials. This is an original Warhammer 40K inspired song blending Fenris with dark Nordic folk, Norse ritual chant, Viking music, tribal percussion and tagelharpa-inspired textures.
